Infinix Teases 260W “Thunder Charge” Wired And 100W Wireless Fast Charging Technology

|

Infinix has developed a 260W "Thunder Charge" fast charging technology. The smartphone brand has assured that it has deployed multiple safety measures and designed its technology to offer ultra-fast charging without thermal overruns.

Nearly every smartphone brand is trying to offer faster wired charging. Xiaomi recently demonstrated its 300W fast charger, while the Realme GT 3 smartphone supports 240W wired fast charging. Let's look at the 260W Thunder Charge fast charging technology from Infinix.

Infinix Teases 260W “Thunder Charge” Wired And 100W Wireless Charging

Infinix Will Unveil Its 260W Charging Solution On March 11

Xiaomi currently holds the record for the fastest wired charging of a smartphone battery. The company recently demonstrated a 300W charger that charges a 4100mAh battery in under 5 minutes. Realme's GT 3 boasts a 240W charger.

Infinix's 260W "Thunder Charge" lies between these two technologies. Moreover, the company teased an image of a charger with the words "260W Thunder Charge".

The 260W Infinix charger is placed next to an Infinix smartphone which appears to be the Infinix Zero Ultra. The recently launched premium Android smartphone supports 180W wired fast charging.

A few reports suggest that Infinix will unveil the 260W wired fast charging technology and charger on March 11. The brand may also confirm the smartphone that supports this technology.

Infinix Is Readying 100W Wireless Charging Too

The new Infinix 260W Thunder Charge charging system will reportedly include a four-way 100W charge pump. The charging system is based on an AHB (Advanced High-performance Bus) circuit design with safe charging control.

Apart from the 260W wired fast charging, Infinix is also working on a 100W wireless charging solution. The company claims it has developed the technology and is currently testing it for efficiency and safety.

The 100W wireless charging technology from Infinix will reportedly feature a custom-coil design with improved charging efficiency, lower internal resistance, and longer peak power charging time. However, Infinix hasn't offered any details on specifications.

Infinix hasn't indicated when the 100W wireless charging will be available either. No Infinix smartphone currently supports these standards. Hence, it is logical to assume that Infinix may embed the technology in an upcoming premium Android smartphone.
