Microsoft has started rolling out the first big update to its latest Windows 10 operating system in India.
The latest update comes with bug fixes and performance improvements including some new features to the operating system. One of the new features for the Indian users of Windows 10 is the Microsoft's digital assistant - Cortana.
Now, with the latest update, Windows 10 users in India will be able to give command to their device. However, Cortana for Windows 10 will be available in India only in English.
Back in September, Microsoft announced that it will roll out Cortana to India. The features was first made available to Windows Insider Program members before rolling out for general users.
Microsoft's personal digital assistant in India will have the Indian voice. The Cortana can now suggest movies playing nearby and book tickets, offer daily horoscope and interestingly take selfie with a simple voice command.
The Cortana can track handwritten notes, movie tickets from emails and lot more. It also syncs calls and messages from Windows Phone and also notify missed calls on PC.
Along with Cortana, the first update brings many improvements in the operating system. Here are the major improvements.
The new update has fixed some of the bugs, which makes it about 30 percent faster boot time, when compared to the Windows 7 on the same device.
Microsoft's new web browser - the Microsoft Edge now comes with performance improvements along with tab preview option. The new update allows users to hover over open tabs to get a preview. The browser also got a new ability to sync all the Reading List and Favorites.
The update also brings performance improvements to Mail, Calendar, Groove Music, Xbox Store and other Microsoft apps. To get the Windows 10 update, click on Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Check Update and Install.
