RIM has confirmed that it will have a special event on January 30, 2013 for the official release of BB10 OS and the launch of a couple of smartphones – one with QWERTY keypad and the other with a full touchscreen display. It is also reported that the smartphones based on BB10 OS will start selling from February 2013.

However, the company assured that it will start selling the BB10 hardware in the first quarter of 2013, which made reports buzzing that the handsets might be delayed until March.

Earlier reports indicate that RIM will be launching devices under two series – L series and N series. Also, RIM is reportedly testing the smartphones over 50 carriers across the world as a preliminary step prior to launch.
