Amidst the speculations surrounding the upcoming OnePlus 3 flagship smartphone, its predecessor, OnePlus 2 has received the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The manufacturer has rolled out the OTA update to the users.
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update in 2 days
This new update will bring a slew of new features to the OnePlus 2 smartphone. The news related to the update was shared on the user forum of OnePlus along with a message that the team is all set to roll out the incremental update of OxygenOS 3.0.2.
This update will bring Android Marshmallow to the device and the post mentioned that it will be an incremental roll out. The company has noted that there will be 100 percent coverage and it will reach the users by two days.
Check manually for the update
The OnePlus 2 users will get the OTA update notification sometime soon as mentioned above. If not, you can also check for the update manually by going to Settings → About Phone → System Updates just like you do with any other Android phone.
The update will bring 8 new features to the table
This Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update will bring new features such as the ones mentioned below to the OnePlus 2 smartphone.
Enhanced Doze Mode: The Doze Mode in Android Marshmallow will prevent some apps from running in the background when your phone is idle. This way, it will enhance the battery backup significantly.
