OnePlus 5T top features you should know: Face Unlock, Gaming Mode, Parallel Apps and more
Must know features of OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus 5T is a capable and beautiful smartphone. The device unveiled in November last year was built on the success of the OnePlus 5. Though the OnePlus 5 and 5T share a lot of aspects, the latter has some goodies for the users up its sleeve. The smartphone features an improved camera, a few of upgraded features, a full-screen design with a bezel-less display, facial recognition and other enhancements.
Face Unlock
The major difference that the OnePlus 5T came up with in terms of features is the Face Unlock, which is a facial recognition feature as the name suggests. The Face Unlock feature uses the selfie camera instead of the infrared depth-mapping camera used for the Face ID in the iPhone X. Later, the OnePlus 5, 3 and 3T also received the Face Unlock feature via updates. Being a software-based feature, it isn't as secure as the one on the iPhone X, OnePlus users are happy with it as it is faster.
Gaming/DND Mode
The OnePlus 5T comes with the Gaming Mode or DND Mode just like the OnePlus 5. There is an alert slider at the left edge, which can be enabled to block notifications while select applications and games are active. This is a feature, which is a part of the OxygenOS software and can be activated and configured via Settings.
Parallel Apps
Parallel Apps support on OnePlus 5T lets you clone some apps on the device. OnePlus has limited this functionality to the social media apps. It is useful for those users who have multiple social media accounts and prefer switch between these accounts easily. The Parallel Apps feature can be enabled from the device's Settings menu.
Gesture Navigation
Like many other Android smartphones, OnePlus 5T also comes with gesture support. It is simple to set up gestures. You can configure it to comprehend gestures while there are some three-finger screenshot and flip to mute those are enabled by default. The interesting thing about gestures is that the same can be used to control music playback on the OnePlus 5T. You can draw a two-finger straight line to play or pause music and draw >or
OnePlus Switch
OnePlus Switch app was launched earlier this year. This app lets users move the data stored on their old phone to the new OnePlus 5T without any hassle. OnePlus Switch will help in moving your contacts, call logs, messages, photos, video, audio files, calendar, and applications from an old phone to the OnePlus 5T.
