Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro starts receiving December security patch in India
Samsung seems to have been little slow in rolling out the update for J7 Pro users.
Good news for Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro owners. The device is finally getting its first software update since its launch in India. While the update is a minor one, it brings with it the December 2017 security patch and some other fixes. However, Samsung seems to have been a little slow in rolling out the update for J7 Pro users. We are already into 2018 and in the first month of the year. Most probably users might have to wait a few more months for the next security update.
Talking about the release, while it is an important one SamsungGalaxy J7 Pro update comes with firmware version J730GMDXU2AQL1. The update is 421MB in size and has a general changelog. Users won't be able to see any new features or notable changes as such. Besides, the handset is already running Nougat.
As per the company, the latest security patch brings a fix for a lot of vulnerabilities in the Android operating system. The update also brings fixes for vulnerabilities in Samsung's own software.
How to Update your Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro Handset?
The latest firmware release for the Galaxy J7 Pro should be available for download. If you own a J7 Pro then you should probably look out for the over-the-air update notification in the Notification panel. Security patches are always crucial as it helps keep your device safe and secure from cyber attacks.
If you have not received the notification then you can always go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and check manually for the update. If it is there then you can start downloading the latest update. The update should be of small size and will take less as compared to a full OS firmware update.
