Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 production expected to double: Cover screen will feature folder design

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is set to make its global debut in the coming months alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5. And while Samsung is yet to confirm details about the upcoming Galaxy foldable smartphones, new information about the Flip 5's production has emerged.

According to industry insider Ross Young, Samsung is expected to nearly double the production of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 as compared to last year's Z Flip 4. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 was more sought after than its predecessor, so we'll have to wait and see if the case is the same with the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 Event Timline

Samsung hosts its annual Galaxy Unpacked event for foldable smartphones in August annually. However, this time out, the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event is expected to take place during the last week of July, between 25 - 27.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also feature a new folder-shaped cover display, which aims to offer more utility than past iterations. The larger cover display will also be reminiscent of other clamshell folding phones like the Moto Razr 2022 and the Vivo X Flip.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023: What to Expect

Apart from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Watch 6 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series are also set to make their debut at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. There is even talk of a new pair of earbuds that could be unveiled at the event.

Samsung is expected to make big updates to its foldable smartphones this year. Apart from the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the South Korean tech giant is also rumoured to improve the hinge design of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
