Xolo Q600 Soon To Be Announced With MediaTek Quad Core CPU At Rs. 8,499 [ Report]
With Xolo X1000 set to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean this week, the makers behind this premium brand could announce a budget oriented quad-core handset. Android Nova informs that Xolo Q600, an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running OS along with 1.2 GHz MediaTek quad-core handset, is coming soon to a retailer nearby you. Apparently, the Xolo Q600 was spotted on NenaMark benchmark site. It is said that the device has a new age PowerVr544 GPU. The Xolo Q600 is expected to be announced in July. It should be priced around Rs. 8,499, according to reports.
Xolo, is a flagship brand of Lava International. In the past few months, Xolo has come up with many quad-core based handsets. Recently, the Xolo Q1000 was announced with a 5-inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, an 8-mega pixel rear camera, 1.2-mega pixel front facing camera, 4GB of internal memory, among others. This year at CES 2013, Lava announced Xolo X500: a smartphone with Intel Z2420 chipset inside.
The Lava Xolo Q600 will arrive with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with resolution of 854 X 480 pixels and 217ppi. Inside, you will get to see 1.2GHz Mediatek MT6589M quad core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card), a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera with Auto Focus , VGA quality front facing camera, and a 2,000mAh Li Lion battery. The device will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The exact release date is yet to be communicated.
It is good to see how our Indian tech vendors are coming up with low cost quad-core handsets. There was a time, when an average quad-core based smartphone retails upwards of Rs.18,000 in the market. The success of Micromax Canvas HD in the market led to the penetration of quad-core powered smartphones in the Indian market.
