Nokia 5.4 Design
The Nokia 5.4 is the latest mid-range device from HMD Global in India. The latest offering from Nokia looks a tad different when compared to the Nokia 5.3 with a slightly modern punch-hole display. However, at the back, the device retains a circular camera unit with a 48MP primary sensor.
Nokia 5.4: Hardware Performance
Though the Nokia 5.4 looks unique due to the patterned back panel, in terms of hardware the device isn't as powerful as the competition. Nokia 5.4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, which is a dated chipset, which makes the device slightly underpowered when compared to the phones like the Realme 7 or the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which costs similar to the Nokia 5.4.
Nokia 5.4: Camera Performance
The Nokia 5.4 has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary sensor with a 48MP primary sensor with support for 1080p video recording capability. At the front, the device has a 16MP selfie camera which also supports 1080p video recording capability. Besides the main camera, there is a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
Nokia 5.4: Price To Specs Ratio
The base model of the Nokia 5.4 offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the device costs Rs. 13,999. Though the specs look decent, there are a lot of options that offer better features at a much lower price tag. A phone with HD+ resolution display that costs over Rs. 13,000 is something that we don't recommend in 2021.
Nokia 5.4: Important Features Or Highlights
The Nokia 5.4's major selling point is the stock Android UI. The device comes with Android 10 OS and will get an Android 11 OS update in the next few weeks. There is also a USB Type-C port for fast charging, but the charging speeds are limited to 10W, which is a bummer.
Verdict
The Nokia 5.4 is a mid-range smartphone that fails to impress when compared to the devices from Realme/Redmi or even some of the Samsung smartphones, which comes with an FHD+ AMOLED display at a similar price tag. If you want an Android smartphone with stock Android UI, then, get the Nokia 5.4. Else, there are a lot of options out there.

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.
So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.
Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.
Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.
The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.
A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.
This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
