Oppo the Chinese smartphone maker has launched a new budget smartphone priced under Rs. 10,000 -- the Oppo A12 in India with features like a modern-looking display, good-sized battery, and a best-in-class processor and the device does look like 2020 smartphones. The smartphone has a 6.22-inch display with a native resolution of 1520 x 720p and the display is protected by a 2.5D curved tempered glass with a tiny notch at the top of the screen to house the selfie camera. Overall, the phone does have a great built and design when compared to other budget smartphones.

The Oppo A12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor with a CPU clock speed of 2.3GHz and it also comes with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU and offers good gaming performance as well. The device does include 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for additional storage expansion. Be it the normal day-to-day usage or gaming, the Oppo A12 can do it all. As the phone has a 720p screen, it can easily play games like PUBG with medium to high graphics settings without any issue. Oppo A12: Camera Performance
The Oppo A12 has a dual-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture that helps the device to capture photos with blurred background or bokeh effect. There is also a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture that doubles as a face unlock the camera. Considering the Oppo A12 as a budget smartphone, the camera performance is not that great. Don't get me wrong, as the phone does take good pictures in day-light conditions but does struggle in low-lighting and artificial lighting conditions and it can be overcome by using the LED flash. The main camera can also shoot 1080p video at 30fps along with the additional camera capabilities like panorama mode.

Although the device has a lower-resolution screen, it is a vibrant display and is great for watching short videos on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. The smartphone for the asking price does offer a good value-for-money, especially considering the facts like device running on Android 10 OS with the custom ColorOS skin on top. Besides, the smartphone also has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and it is fast and accurate.
Oppo A12: Important Features/Highlights
