Vodafone launches Rs. 21 prepaid plan to compete with Reliance Jio
Vodafone is competing with Reliance Jio with the new Rs. 21 plan.
The tariff war between the telecom operators in India is getting fiercer. The telecom operators are coming up with new plans on a consistent basis in order to rollout benefits to their subscribers. The latest one to come up with new plans is Vodafone. The operator has introduced a new prepaid plan priced at Rs. 21 offering unlimited internet.
Vodafone appears to have introduced the new plan to compete with the cheap prepaid recharge plans offered by Reliance Jio priced at Rs. 19. The Rs. 21 prepaid recharge plan from Vodafone offers unlimited 3G/4G internet, claims the telecom operator's website.
Notably, the plan offers unlimited internet for one hour. So, the subscribers can download any content in that one hour. Though the unlimited internet benefit is for one hour, the validity of this plan is one day. The prepaid plan offers 150MB high-speed 4G data and has a validity of one day.
Similar to the plans offered by Reliance Jio, the Vodafone recharge plan will also render high-speed0 internet connectivity with 3G/4G speed for the specified time limit. Once the data limit is over, it is said that the speed will drop to 64Kbps.
On the comparison front, the Reliance Jio plans are said to offer unlimited voice calls, 20 free SMS and complimentary access to the Jio suite of applications similar to the other recharge plans. Recently, Vodafone has been offering several benefits such as unlimited voice calls, high-speed data benefits of up to 4.5GB data per day.
Also, Vodafone introduced Rs. 158 prepaid plan offering 1GB data per day for a period of 28 days. This plan was also introduced to compete with the low-cost plan from Reliance Jio priced at Rs. 149 back then. Apart from the prepaid plans, Vodafone also revised the Rs. 399 RED postpaid plan offering additional data at the same cost. Lately, the telecom operator rolled out the 4G VoLTE service across the country.
