Spotify Premium Discount: You Can Get Annual Subscription For Rs. 699
The Christmas season is fast approaching and Spotify has come up with a discount on the annual subscription cost by up 40%. Earlier, the streaming service was launched for Rs. 1,189 per year. Now, the subscription has received a price cut taking it down to Rs. 699 per year.
Spotify's discount on the annual Premium subscription is a limited period offer, which is valid until December 31, 2019. This discount will bring the streaming service closer to rivals in the industry. Notably, after the launch of Spotify and YouTube Music, both JioSaavn and Gaana also discounted their annual subscription cost taking them down to Rs. 299 and Rs. 399 respectively.
Spotify Price In India
For the uninitiated, Spotify is available on a monthly subscription plan of Rs. 119 per month, which totals to Rs. 1,428 for 12 months. So, if you choose the Spotify Premium annual subscription at the discounted pricing, then you can save 50% than the monthly plan.
Also, comparing it with the six-month subscription plan priced at Rs. 719, Spotify India annual subscription is relatively cheaper at Rs. 699. Unfortunately, the discount is not applicable to the users who have subscribed to the Spotify family plans or those who have registered onto the service via a third-party reseller.
Should You Subscribe To Spotify?
Given that Spotify Premium annual subscription is priced at Rs. 699 for a limited time period, it could entice many potential subscribers opt for it. While Spotify has a better quality interface and design than the others in the category, it doesn't have an extensive collection of songs.
In India, Spotify misses out on millions of songs, thanks to the ongoing lawsuit or licensing agreement issues with Saregama and Warner Music Group. As of now, there is no update regarding the same from the time the service was launched in India. And, there seems to be no end to this tiff.
Talking about taking up the annual Spotify subscription at 40%, you should take it up if you are interested in the Spotify collections. Do note that at the end of the annual subscription, existing subscribers will be rolled back to the old plans and new subscribers will get a free Spotify account.
