Nokia 6 (2018) photos leak a day before launch; confirm 16:9 display

The Nokia 6 (2018) has been the talk of the tech industry of late. The device has attracted enough traction, thanks to the many rumors and leaks.

Recently, a teaser was revealed by a Chinese retailer tipping that the Nokia 6 (2018) will be unveiled tomorrow in China. This somewhat adheres to the launch pattern of HMD Global in the last year as the company unveiled the Nokia 6 initially in China in early 2017. While we are just a day away from the launch of the Nokia 6 (2018), a set of photos of the Nokia 6 have been posted by a Chinese publication TechSina via PhoneArena.

Previously, the Nokia 6 (2018) had appeared on TENAA after clearing the 3C certification. The images spotted on the TENAA listing showed that the smartphone will have thin bezels at the top and bottom pointing out at the presence of an 18:9 display. But the specifications those came to light showed that the device will feature a 5.5-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio as on the original Nokia 6.

As seen in the freshly leaked images of the Nokia 6 (2018), the bezels are noticeable and the screen appears to have the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. But the fingerprint sensor appears to be moved to the rear of the smartphone and the reason for the same remains unknown to us. The display appears to have Corning's 2.5D glass protection. The front camera appears to be at the right of the top bezel beside the Nokia branding and there are on-screen navigation buttons too.

Coming to the rear, the Nokia 6 (2018) features a noticeable design change. Well, the camera module appears to be longer with the imaging sensor at the top and the LED flash at the bottom. There is an orange accent around the camera module and a fingerprint sensor beneath it. The orange accent is also seen on the aluminum frame around the phone's body.

Nokia 6 (2018) is different from the original Nokia 6 not only on the design front but also in terms of hardware. The upcoming one is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 3000mAh battery. The camera is believed to be the same with a 16MP sensor at the rear and an 8MP sensor at the front but we can expect differences in the pixel size and aperture.

Given that the Nokia 6 (2018) could see the light of the day tomorrow in China, we can come to know more details very soon.
