Poco M2 Pro: Design
Poco M2 Pro is none other than the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 series. Poco has taken on the Redmi Note 9 Pro available in India with a slight tweak in the camera design and a new color scheme. The latest smartphone from Poco flaunts a glossy finish that makes it attract smudges and there's a fingerprint sensor mounted at the side. There's Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides and a P2i splash-resistant coating too. The display on the smartphone is a 6.67-inch IPS LCD FHD+ panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels similar to that on the Redmi Note 9 series. The screen has a tall aspect ratio, a punch-hole cutout at the center and a conventional refresh rate of 60Hz. Notably, the LCD panel isn't as great as the AMOLED panel on devices in the similar price bracket. And, the notable aspect is that the Poco M2 Pro features the Widevine L1 certification that lets you watch FHD content on OTT platforms.
Poco M2 Pro: Hardware Specifications
Poco M2 Pro is powered by a similar hardware as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. It gets the power from an octa-core Snapdragon 720G 8nm chipset. This processor is teamed up with three different storage configurations including 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. With this capable hardware, the Poco M2 Pro will handle multi-tasking like a pro. Also, you can play popular game titles such as PUBG, Asphalt 9, and others sans any lag. The presence of a 60Hz display renders a mediocre overall gaming experience.
Poco M2 Pro: Camera Performance
Poco M2 Pro is one of the affordable smartphones featuring a quad-camera setup at the rear. The device flaunts a 48MP primary Samsung GM2 sensor with an aperture of f/1.79, PDAF and EIS, a secondary 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a tertiary 5MP macro lens capable of capturing 2cm macro shots, and a 2MP fourth depth sensor. At the front, within the punch-hole cutout at the top center of the display, the smartphone flaunts a 16MP selfie camera sensor. This camera module can capture 4K videos at 30fps, FHD 1080p videos at 60/30fps, and HD 720p slo-mo videos at up to 960fps. The mid-range device can also shoot time-lapse videos. Furthermore, Poco M2 Pro supports RAW mode capturing as well.
Poco M2 Pro: Price To Specs Ratio
On the whole, the Poco M2 Pro is a good overall device that comes with a long-lasting battery life and an affordable one to support 33W fast charging technology. The camera and hardware aspects of the Poco M2 Pro also deliver the much-needed performance that we can expect from a smartphone priced starting Rs. 13,999. However, if you can stretch your budget up to Rs. 17,000, then you can consider smartphones with better specs such as faster refresh rate, improved camera capabilities, AMOLED display and more.
Poco M2 Pro: Features
A 5000mAh battery powers Poco M2 Pro with support for 33W fast charging technology. What's commendable is that the retail box of the smartphone ships with the powerful charger. It is touted to charge the battery from 0 to 100% in 88 minutes and the battery is likely to last a whole day on a single charge. The other highlights of the Poco M2 Pro include single bottom-firing speaker for loud and clear audio output and MIUI 11 based on Android 10 along with Poco Launcher 2.0 that includes some notable customizations.
Poco M2 Pro: Verdict
If you are looking forward to upgrade to a smartphone that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket and still enjoy features such as impressive camera performance, long-lasting battery life and capable hardware, then you can opt for the Poco M2 Pro.

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.
So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.
Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.
Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.
The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.
A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.
This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
