Realme 7i: Design

Realme has expanded its affordable Realme 7 series in India with the launch of the Realme 7i. The device brings along gradient rear panel and is announced in three different shades. The rear panel has a rectangular module on the top-left that houses an L-shaped quad-camera setup. The device also has a physical fingerprint scanner at the back panel which is circular.  Moving to the front, the smartphone sports a tall 6.5-inch LCD display that has a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 20:9 aspect ratio. The important thing to notice here is that the display delivers a standard HD+ resolution but still offers a higher 90Hz refresh rate. This will enhance the viewing experience on the budget smartphone.

Realme 7i: Hardware Performance

Realme has used the Qualcomm’s mid-range octa-core Snapdragon 662 processor to back up its new affordable smartphone. The chipset is based on 11mm LPP process and delivers 2GHz clock speed. The chipset is paired with Adreno 610 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4x RAM. The device comes with up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage space and also has external microSD card support to manage all the space crunch issues. The chipset is well-rounded for multitasking and also handle high-end games without any hiccups or lags.

Realme 7i: Price To Specs Ratio

The Realme 7i is launched in two different variants. The base model which comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is retailing at Rs. 11,999. Whereas, for the top model which has 4GB RAM+ 128GB storage configuration, you just need to shell out just Rs. 1,000 extra. This variant would cost you Rs. 12,999, which in our opinion makes more sense. The device can be bought in Fusion Green and Fusion Blue colour options.

Realme 7i: Camera Performance

The budget Realme 7i is equipped with four cameras at the rear panel. The sensors onboard include a 64MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The device also consists of a pair of 2MP sensors that function as the monochrome and depth lens respectively and has an f/2.4 aperture. Realme is keeping its game strong in the budget smartphone camera department. The Realme 7i is one of the few handsets that retail below Rs. 15,000 price mark and offer a big 64MP primary camera sensor. The camera is equipped with Night Filters and Super NightScape mode for low-light photography. The handset sports a 16MP camera inside the in-display camera cutout for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera comes with an f/2.2 aperture.

Realme 7i: Highlight/ Important Features

The Realme 7i is driven by a 5,000 mAh battery. This big battery unit is accompanied by 18W fast charging technology. Again, it is amongst the few available budget smartphones which are equipped with a Quick charging tech. The device has enough fuel to last for an entire day on a single charge. This complemented by fast charging is definitely going to make things easier for us.

Realme 7i: Verdict

Realme has been strengthening its game since long in the budget and mid-range segment. We have been presented by multiple values for money products by the brand in recent times. The Realme 7 series is a good example of the company’s budget-oriented smartphones. And the latest model in the lot, i.e, the Realme 7i is also a feature-packed smartphone. p At an asking price of Rs. 11,990 you get a 64MP quad-camera setup and a fast-charging supported battery. This is one of the good deals you can grab in the Indian market right now.

How do we rate a Device?

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.

So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.

Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.

Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.

The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.

Value for Money

A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.

This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
