Vivo X50: Design
The Vivo X50 is the latest flagship smartphone from Vivo with an emphasis on design and camera performance. The smartphone comes with a premium all-glass design with a metallic frame and the phone is available in multiple color options in a thin and light form factor. The Vivo X50 has a 6.56-inch AMOLED screen with a tiny punch hole cutout at the top of the display, offering a higher screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone does offer a 90Hz refresh rate along with FHD+ resolution and is protected by a 2.5D curved tempered glass.
Vivo X50: Hardware Performance
The Vivo X50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC, a mid-range processor with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. The smartphone does not have a microSD card slot, so make sure to select the high-end model if you want to store the content natively on the device. The Snapdragon 765G is a highly capable processor that can handle most of the normal day-to-day tasks without any issue. Also note that the device does support 5G network, making it future proof as well, with the capability to offer gigabit-speed upload and download.
Vivo X50: Camera Performance
The Vivo X50 has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary camera, 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens. The device also has a high-resolution 32MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. The primary camera unit on the Vivo X50 can record native 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos also at 30fps. It does support a dedicated portrait mode that uses the primary camera and the telephoto lens to create a natural-looking blurred background.
Vivo X50: Price To Specs Ratio
The Vivo X50 is priced at Rs. 34,990, which makes it a bit more expensive than some of the smartphones based on the same platform. However, the smartphone does offer some unique features such as an AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate along with an in-display fingerprint sensor, capable of securing the device using biometrics. The camera unit on the Vivo X50 is also a bit unique. Most of the smartphones at this price point offer a quad-camera setup for the same sake and the optics on the Vivo X50 are highly functional, especially with the dedicated telephoto and an ultra-wide angle lens.
Vivo X50: Important Features/Highlights
The Vivo X50 comes with a 4,200 mAh battery and the smartphone can easily last all day with a single charge and the device also supports fast charging via the USB Type-C port, that too at 33W. Like most of the high-end smartphones, the Vivo X50 does missout on a 3.5mm headphone jack and one either has to use a dongle or a wireless earphone with the device. As per the software, the Vivo X50 runs on Android 10 OS with custom FunTouch OS skin on top, allowing users to customize the overall look and feel of the device. Like most custom skins, the device comes with a bunch of bloatware as well.
Vivo X50: Verdict
The Vivo X50 is for those who don't want to spend a lot on a smartphone but still want a device that can easily handle regular tasks, a bit of gaming, and a good camera setup. This phone offers a balanced set of features, making it an interesting offering around Rs. 35,000 price range.

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.
So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.
Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.
Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.
The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.
A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.
This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
