Nexus 7 2: Is Google Planning to Announce next-gen Tab At Computex 2013?
Google Nexus 7, the most successful 7-inch tablet ever made, is finally ready to dress up again. It's been a year now since the first iteration was announced at Google I/0 2012. This very year, the software giant didn't announce the second generation tablet device. However, during the sessions held during Google I/0 2013, the next-gen Nexus 7 was seen allegedly. This might be another joke or in reality Google might be prepping a sequel to Nexus 7 with Full HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Now the makers behind Android mobile OS released an advertisement promoting Google Maps.

The video extensively talked about Street View features, but sometime around 53 seconds, you will get to see: a Nexus 7 look like device with rounded edges, and curvy design. It could be the next-gen Nexus 7 because the video was officially released by Google a day back. Analysts believe that the rounded edge, as seen in the video is nothing but a protective case. Take this rumor with a pinch of salt due to the fact that Google is still waiting for the right opportunity to reveal next -gen Nexus 7. So, the Nexus 7 is still to be announced officially. Interestingly, if the above rumor is said to be correct than the next-gen Nexus 7 would share similarity with HTC Nexus One in terms of design.
The Nexus 7 II will arrive in July, as speculated on web. In terms of internal specifications, it is said to have a same 7-inch display, but now comes with Full HD display. Earlier this year, it was reported that Google might not continue with Nvidia instead talks are on advanced stage with Qualcomm. So, one could see Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor to be used to power up next-gen Nexus 7. The device would have a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera with video recording facility as well. Google is prepping to announce Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on June 10 (still unconfirmed). So, there is a chance to see v4.3 Jelly Bean to power up the next -gen device.
The upcoming Computex show could host the grand premier of Google- Asus Nexus 7 II. The tech show will begin on June 4 - 8, 2013 in Taipei. Stay tuned to GizBot.
