Google I/O 2018 to happen from May 8 to May 10
Google I/O 2018 Developer’s Conference dates are finally out!
Google has come up with a teaser for its annual I/O Developer's Conference with clues and puzzles. The company usually teases a few upcoming features before the event that is held during summer every year. Back in 2017, Google teased the copyless paste feature before the Google I/O conference and now there are more elaborate clues for the Google I/O 2018.
From the clues that were let out by Google Developers' Twitter account, it looks like the company will hold the conference from May 8 to May 10 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Initially, a coded tweet was posted providing the first clue and it is a picture of a bunch of binary codes. When converting the binary code to text, it reveals the Google I/O URL.
On visiting the website, Google presents you with the Google Street View of what appears to be the reception area of the Developers building. On moving around the area and looking for clues as in an escape room game or a treasure hunt puzzle, you will get to further details. However, you will play the game in Google Street View instead of the real world.
Inside the building, you can get several clues thrown here and there such as a calendar with the date August 5, a plate of Sushi, a book called Sister Carrie written by Theodore Dreiser, and more. You need to use the clues to enter the building further and the game goes on.
Initially, you will have to unlock a door with the password that could be a derivation from the clues as most of them have a similar theme - Sister and Japan. On unlocking the door, the Google Street View will take you to a conference room that is filled with further clues. The first clue in the conference room is a pineapple cake hinting that this could be the name of the next iteration of Android after Oreo. So would it be Android 9.0 Pineapple Cake? Well, we need to wait to know the same.
After spending enough time to join the clues together, you will get to know the date and location of the Google I/O 2018 conference. And that is from May 8 to May 10 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California as mentioned above.
