BlackBerry to launch two new smartphones in India this quarter

BlackBerry is all set to launch its upcoming smartphone Ghost, but the company is not taking a pause with it. BlackBerry is also planning to launch two new lineups in this quarter in India.

BlackBerry is all set to launch its first bezel-less smartphone which will hit the smartphone market by the name Ghost maybe by the end of this quarter. The licensee Optiemus which is responsible for designing and manufacturing company the units for India, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Nepal has hinted that the company is also planning for two new launches for this quarter.

Both the new phones will come with the same robust security features along with the Blackberry Hub as part of the features. Noida-based Optiemus took the charge of designing and manufacture phone and joined their hands to work under the BlackBerry's moniker back in 2016.

The company is targeting 10-12 percent of market share in the price segments it is planning to launch the new smartphones. Apart from these two BlackBerry model company is also working on units which will be launch in the upcoming quarters, in various price segments.

"We are going to come out with a whole range of models starting with two this quarter. And during the year, we have more models planned out in the coming quarters. We have a strong pipeline of models which we will be bringing in and they will be at various price points," Digit quoted Hardip Singh, Executive Director at Optiemus.

Famous leakster Evan Blass (aka @eveleaks) has revealed the design of the phone back in February. According to the render, the BlackBerry Ghost seems to arrive with a taller 18:9 display with bezel-less screen design.

The second phone which Singh hinted might be the Ghost Pro which is expected to come with a wider and shorter display design, pointing towards the tradition 16:9 aspect ratio screen.

However, the hardware specification was not disclosed by Singh. Instead, he added, all the upcoming smartphones will come equipped with the DTEK app which will be monitoring the security of the device in real-time, along with that BlackBerry Hub will centralize all the communication.

The upcoming devices are not going to sport any QWERTY keyboard anymore, once which was the highlighted feature of KEYone. TCL and Optiemus are the one behind the manufacturing of BlackBerry KEYone. The smartphone was launched back in August 2017 with the price tag of Rs 3
